Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Phoenix
WELCOME TO SUNNY PHOENIX!
Day at leisure. Enjoy time by the pool or take a hike on trails near your hotel, the Tapatio Cliffs Resort. At 6 pm, meet your Tour Director and travel companions for a welcome drink.

Surrounded by the Phoenix North Mountains, Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort features sun-drenched pools, a 138-foot water slide, on-site restaurants, a spa and salon, and nearby trails. The all-suite hotel offers spacious guestrooms with a private balcony and separate living area.
Day 2: Phoenix to Sedona
PHOENIX–SEDONA–GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK
Depart Phoenix and travel north through cactus-studded scenery for an orientation tour of Sedona, “Arizona’s Scenic Sensation.” Enjoy free time in Sedona or join an optional jeep tour through magnificent red rock canyons. Arrive this afternoon at Grand Canyon National Park, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The spectacular beauty of this famous attraction draws more than 5 million visitors a year from around the globe. Spend the next two nights inside the park. This evening, be sure to watch the spectacular sunset.

At Yavapai Lodge®, natural beauty meets the magic of convenience. Set within Grand Canyon National Park, this hotel occupies a prime location at the South Rim. The lodge is a short walk or bus ride from the South Rim and steps away from the market, bank and post office. This lodge is part of a collection of lodges operated by the National Park; space fills up quickly at these lodges and is therefore based on availability. In the event that space is not available at this hotel, an alternate lodge of similar category will be secured.
Day 3: Grand Canyon National Park
GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK
If you missed the sunset, sunrise is just as impressive! Today is free to explore everything the canyon has to offer. You may want to enjoy optional flight seeing over the Grand Canyon—definitely the thrill of a lifetime, or set out to explore the Grand Canyon and learn about its geology and how the canyon was carved. You may wish to join a Ranger talk in the Amphitheater, venture down part of Bright Angel Trail, or visit the geology museum.

Day 4: Navajo Tribal Park–Lake Powell
GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK–MONUMENT VALLEY NAVAJO TRIBAL PARK–LAKE POWELL
Head to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, where the weathering action of wind and water has carved the famous sandstone spires and towers that rise hundreds of feet above the valley floor. On a 4-wheel-drive backcountry tour with a knowledgeable Navajo guide. Then enjoy a traditional Navajo Fry Bread tasting. On to Lake Powell for a 2-night stay, with free time to relax or maybe stroll along Wahweap Marina.

The Lake Powell Resort is located in Wahweap Marina, right in the heard of all your down lake activities and adventures. The hotel has two outdoor pools, hot tub, beach access, fitness center, guest laundry, gift shop, restaurant, lounge, coffee house, and room service.
Day 5: Lake Powell
LAKE POWELL
This morning, explore Antelope Slot Canyon with a local Navajo guide. Be mesmerized by an amazing fantasy world of stone, created by wind and water. Learn the history of this amazing canyon and be sure to take advantage of the incredible photo opportunities. The rest of the day is free in Lake Powell, where sparkling blue water laps against towering red-rock canyon walls and sandy beaches.

Day 6: Lake Powell to Bryce Canyon
LAKE POWELL-BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK
Depart from the splendid views of Lake Powell and travel Utah’s scenic backroads to spectacular Bryce Canyon National Park. Spend time in the park capturing the magnificent contrasts of bright red, yellow, and pink pillars called “hoodoos.” Years of erosion have carved colorful sandstone into thousands of spires, arches, and mazes for an unforgettable sight. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant this evening with your group.

Day 7: Zion National Park
BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK-ZION NATIONAL PARK
Today, see nearby Zion National Park, a spectacle of massive stone formations whose colors change with the light of the day and the season. To the Mormon pioneers, it was a haven of beauty resembling natural temples and cathedrals. Enjoy a boxed picnic lunch on the front lawn of Zion Lodge with free time to explore before continuing to Las Vegas for a brief orientation tour. This evening, your Tour Director hosts a farewell dinner.

About Your Group Trip Coordinator
Margo McDonough started Blue Skies Travel Center in 2016, after earlier stints in the travel industry for such companies as J.P. Morgan Chase. She has planned and escorted two trips for OLLI, a Paris to Normandy river cruise in October 2018, facilitated by special guest expert Professor Ray Callahan, and a trip to the Tournament of Roses Parade in December 2019.
McDonough is a member of the American Society of Travel Advisors, is fully insured, and is supported by host agency Uniglobe Travel Center and Virtuoso, a luxury travel consortium. Much like OLLI members, she has a passion for lifelong learning and is currently studying for a doctoral degree at West Chester University.
